Biography

Georgia Velivasaki was born in Heraklion, Crete, and currently lives in Athens and Thessaloniki. She studied “European Culture” (Hellenic Open University) and holds an MSc in “Creative Writing” (University of Western Macedonia). She is involved in singing, musical theater, and performance art, both as a performer and creator. She writes poetry, lyrics, plays, short stories, essays, and also edits and translates texts. Her works have been published, awarded, and presented in live performances. Her book Performance Poetry, Επιτελεστική Ποίηση – Action Λόγου ως Άξιον Λόγου (2022) has been included as an academic textbook in “Evdoxos.” She teaches Performance Poetry and is a PhD candidate at the “Creative Writing” Department of the University of Western Macedonia. She is the founder of the first International Performance Poetry Symposium-Festival in Greece.
