Panagiotidis Giorgos

Biography

Giorgos Panagiotidis, poet and prose writer, was born in 1965 in Alexandroupoli. His mentor was the surrealist poet Thanasis Tzoulis. He studied Pedagogy, holds a PhD in Creative Writing, and teaches in the corresponding Master’s Programs at the University of Western Macedonia and the Hellenic Open University. He collaborated with the literary magazine Mandragoras, where he mainly presented poets. He also did the same at the Poetry Symposium in Patras. His novel Eroton kai Aoraton (Loves and Invisibles) won the Novel Award from the magazine Diavazo in 2008. His book Giorgos Seferis – Life and Parody was shortlisted for the Essay Award at the Anagnostis magazine in 2015. He has translated and published the collection Elizabeth Bishop – Poems. His novel Isos Iisous (Equal Jesus) is the first in Greece to be part of a PhD dissertation in Creative Writing. His writings have been published in collective volumes and in literary magazines, both print and online.
