
Myroforidis Alexandros
Biography
Alexandros Myroforidis was born in 1972 in Thessaloniki, where he lives and works. He holds a PhD in Creative Writing and is a researcher of mystery fiction. His master’s thesis at the University of Western Macedonia’s MA in Creative Writing program included a case study on the locked-room mystery in detective literature. His doctoral dissertation focused on the study of plot in prose fiction, a subject he teaches in the MA in Creative Writing program.
As the founder and director of the company Gamecraft (gamecraft.gr) since 2007, his creative work includes interactive mystery performances, educational games, writing adventure fiction short stories, and original screenplays for use in education, culture, and entertainment. He maintains long-term collaborations with organizations such as the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki and has produced creative work in numerous partnerships with museums, archaeological services, and other cultural organizations over the past 17 years.
Since 2018, he has been the editor of the Fedora mystery series, which includes the mini-series Thessaloniki Noir, published by Archetypo editions. He is also a translator of literary and academic texts from English. In November 2023, he created and currently coordinates the Fedora crime fiction book club in Thessaloniki.
